Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA is a leading Muay Thai and fitness camp in Phuket, offering high quality training over a wide range of disciplines including Muay Thai, MMA, Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ), no-gi submission grappling, wrestling, strength and conditioning, and fitness.
The gym has welcomed more than 6,000 visitors since opening its doors in April 2022, including some of the biggest names in mixed martial arts, such as UFC Champions Weili Zhang and Alexander Volkonovski.
The 10,000 square foot facility boasts a 9x9 MMA cage, strength and conditioning floor, MMA and BJJ space, a Muay Thai area, recovery area with ice baths and changing rooms. There’s also a VIP training area for visiting world class fighters.
More than just a gym, Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA is a center for learning and general fitness and wellbeing. There are regular seminars with some of the biggest names in MMA. Past events include Alexander Volkanovski, UFC Featherweight Champion; Tyson Fury, undefeated Lineal Heavyweight Champion and WBC World Heavyweight Champion; George St-Pierre, 2 time UFC Champion; Superbon Banchamek One Championship Featherweight Kickboxing Champion; and Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, One Championship Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion.
Muay Thai is one of the Kingdom’s most popular sports disciplines, known around the world. Thousands of foreigners come to Thailand each year to learn more about the ancient practice. The Thai government’s national ‘Soft Power Committee’ recently announced a plan to grant a special visa for foreigners who apply for Muay Thai classes in Thailand, allowing visitors to stay for up to 90 days.
