Siam Square will turn into an explosion of light in December 2023 when the Siam Square Countdown begins.
During the whole month of December, Siam Square and surrounding areas will become a beacon of light, integrating story-telling and artificial reality through multimedia displays, live performances and art installations.
The month will see various displays throughout the Siam Square area including Siam Luminary Spark Up, which will adorn parts of Siam Square with light displays on buildings, walls and streets, making the streets come alive. Visitors can take photos and apply special AR filters and share vibrant motion graphics built right on top of the physical environment. The Siam Luminary Spark Up will also feature a light show with an array of radiant lights and shimmering displays that will illuminate the night with a symphony of colours.
The Siam Story Pop Space will see various artists collaborate on creating art pieces and transforming Siam Square Walking Street into an inclusive space and vibrant art community. Artists on display will be Lolay and Wild So Serious, with more to be confirmed. There will also be a kinetic snowfall installation and a food market.
The actual 2024 countdown will see an immersive multimedia show with synchronised multimedia and a variety of LED screens giving the area a completely new look and feel, blending reality and illusion. An interactive smartphone platform will encourage users to share their content of the day adding to the multimedia elements of the event.
A giant stage will be the center of entertainment with a host of special events scheduled throughout the evening, merging various genres such as new generation orchestra and pop music leading the way into the new year.
