Laguna Phuket Marathon returns to Laguna Phuket in the middle of June 2025. One of the most prestigious road races in the Kingdom, Laguna Phuket Marathon attracts people from all over the world who come back year after year.
Since its inception, Laguna Phuket Marathon has placed a strong emphasis on event organisation and professionalism, earning it AAF AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) certification from the beginning. The marathon race is a qualifier for the prestigious Boston Marathon, which results in a high number of good runners from all over the world.
As always, participants can choose between different distances to suit their fitness levels. For those not wanting to do the full marathon course, a half marathon is also available, as well as a 10-kilometer and a 5-kilometer distance. Finally, children can embark on a 2-kilometer distance to get a taste of what a race feels like. There is also a marathon relay taking place at the same time as the marathon.
The distances will take runners past some of Phuket’s most beautiful areas and famous landmarks with the full course going inland and north, turning at the Naiyang National Park to loop back to Laguna Phuket.
As well as being professionally run and very scenic, Laguna Phuket Marathon is also known for its host of social activities taking place around the races. Participants can visit the expo where exhibitors showcase the newest running fashion and gadgets, and enjoy a number of events such as the Pasta Party where runners can fill up in carbs before their big race.
Laguna Phuket Marathon supports the local community with charitable contributions to Laguna Phuket Foundation, an organisation established in 2009 to support local communities, with a strong focus on educational development and societal advancement. Projects include The Developing Sustainable Schools Program, including School Partnership Project, Survival Swim with Laguna Phuket, and Laguna Phuket’s “Fully Booked!” Mobile Learning Center.
