The Sponsorship Experts have sponsored a new Asia Sponsorship News (ASN) report on the biggest brands in volleyball in Asia 2024. The report provides insight into one of the most exciting sport sponsorship categories at the moment.
Following the ASN Volleyball Asia Market Analysis 2023, the ASN Brands In Volleyball Asia 2024 report digs deep into the details of the Asian brands that sponsor volleyball. Which brands increased their spend over the past decade, and which decreased, as well as the type of sponsorship they favoured.
The report tracks sponsorship spend in 2023 including case studies of the biggest deals, and analyses the impact of legislation and societal trends on volleyball sponsorship’s rich tapestry of opportunities.
Although volleyball sponsorship, valued at USD415 million in 2023, accounted for just 0.7 percent of all sports sponsorship worldwide (US$ 63.74 billion), volleyball sponsorship in Asia has seen a huge increase in the past decade, increasing 280 percent from 2013 to 2020 before falling victim to the COVID-19 pandemic, falling back to 2016 levels in 2021.
A total of USD38.4 million was invested in volleyball in Asia in 2023. That makes volleyball the 11th highest ranking sport, accounting for only 1 percent of all regional sports sponsorship. However, the spend in Asia makes up 9.3 percent of the global volleyball sponsorship market, a testament to the popularity of the sport regionally.
Interestingly, China took over the top spot from Thailand in 2023, accounting for 32 percent of Asian volleyball sponsorship spend. Japan, India and Pan-Asia round out the top 5 countries with the highest spend, accounting for 92 percent of the spend in Asia.
